Government

Government security is a wide and complex issue encompassing many facets of national infrastructure. Governments and their various agencies, operating both at national and local levels, are responsible for the security of the nation state and for the safety and security of their citizens. Accordingly, Government security issues and requirements are wide and diverse.

Government Sector

Westminster has an extensive portfolio of products and services to assist Governments and their various agencies in dealing with security issues, whether it be protecting buildings, infrastructure, information or individuals or the gathering of intelligence or provision of systems for the fight against crime, insurgency and terrorism.

Government buildings are home to many sources of highly sensitive information. In the interests of national security it is imperative that this information stays confidential. Those working in Government buildings may also be high-risk targets for potential terrorist action. Westminster can advise on and provide comprehensive solutions to these issues.

As well as threats from dangerous groups and individuals, the continuing operation of Government agencies must be protected against natural disasters to allow Governments to continue to function in any eventuality.

Government officials in transport are also a potential target and accordingly need adequate protection to prevent kidnapping and attack. Westminster provides training programmes relating to Hostage and Kidnap Awareness; Personal Tracking Systems allow such officials to be monitored globally.

A nation's defence also includes close monitoring of activity within its Borders, where terrorism is also a domestic problem. Westminster can advise on advanced solutions for Communications Interception and Intelligence Gathering to assess and analyse potential threats. Covert Tracking Systems can be deployed on vehicles and for worldwide tracking of suspects and undercover law enforcement operatives.

Town and city-wide Surveillance systems are now becoming an accepted feature around the world with citizens welcoming the additional security and protection provided by such systems. Westminster has extensive experience in the provision of complex systems of this nature including the provision of transmission networks and the construction and operation of Control & Command systems.

Network-based analysis of large-scale CCTV systems can also be deployed to track movement of people and vehicles, utilising advanced technologies such as Video Analytics and Auto-Number Plate Recognition systems.

The passage of people and vehicles into Government premises can be regulated using Entry Control solutions such as Turnstiles, Gates, Barriers, Bollards and Rising Ramps. Further access to restricted areas can be effectively controlled using a range of Access Control solutions, including cutting-edge I.D. Verification, Biometric Security and Advanced Door Locking Systems.

Westminster can advise on and provide National ID card solutions and also provide Document Verification systems for official documents and passports, etc.

National borders are a security issue for all Governments and Westminster can provide a wide range of Border Security solutions for the Surveillance, Detection and Screening of persons crossing national land, sea or air Borders.

Westminster can also provide equipment and solutions for various Government agencies to deal with Law Enforcement, Riot Control, Data Protection, Transport Security and Training.
