SONIX is a Long Range Communications and Acoustic Device, that is particularly suitable for use on board ships as a long range hailing and warning system, it also has the has the ability to transmit an effective high intensity sound disruption frequency that can be used to fend off an approaching enemy attack.
SONIX was developed to project high quality voice communications at up to 1 Km operational ranges with authority and superior intelligibility in high ambient noise environments.
SONIX systems are currently in operational use or evaluation in maritime, check point, vehicular, airborne, and integrated system applications by the USN, USMC, US Army, and USCG. SONIX also supports applications for government and law enforcement agencies and high-value commercial infrastructure.
SONIX is a flat panel, multi-transducer, phase coherent emitter.
It has been designed for highly-directional communication in host nation language at 300+ metres over land and 500+ metres over water.
SONIX can also issue a warning tone that influences behaviour and determines intent at safe stand¬off distances.
Thereby, the SONIX operator can execute proactive responses under existing rules of engagement; Addressing the critical "danger close" capability gap.
SONIX can save lives on both sides of the device.
In the remote-operation pan/tilt configuration, SONIX provides a first responder capability for large infrastructure force protection.
Sound Frequency

SONIX breaks through the sound barrier to achieve levels of audible transmission that have not been possible before now.
The details below indicate the decibel levels that are emitted from the various different sources:
- 20 dB Leaves rustling;
- 60 dB Normal conversation;
- 70 dB Busy street traffic;
- 80 dB Vacuum cleaner;
- 85 dB OSHA requires hearing protection;
- 100 dB Large orchestra;
- 105 dB Lawn mower;
- 110 dB Front row of rock concert;
- 115dB Limit of sound permitted in industry;
- 120-130 dB Threshold of pain; deafening;
- 140 dB - Military jet takeoff;
- 151 dB - SONIX in defensive mode.
SONIX is capable of vast audible transmissions due to its narrow acoustic beam formation. It has a focused "laser" like wave form which enables intentional accuracy, and can be directed to a target with pin point accuracy, to achieve the most outstanding results.
