Poniard Semi-Permanent Road Barrier

Designed for military requirements in the 1970s, this unit is man portable and is available in standard modules which can be joined to span any required distance. Acts as a temporary checkpoint for controlled vehicle inspection and visual deterrence at air ports, ports, docks and harbours. Poniard is designed to destroy vehicle tyres ranging from a mini to a 10 ton truck.

Poniards™ have a patented spring arrangement on each blade which allows the progress of vehicles one way whilst, on their under surface, patented road impingers hold the barrier firm against migration otherwise caused by vehicle passage. There is also a 'hold down' facility where the blades are fully retracted below the grille.

Poniards™ may be manually operated by hand lever in conjunction with a pole barrier, or by electric motor. They are weather treated and can be painted to customer requirements
