The DVB-2 has been designed with advice from active De-mining and EOD experts from around the world.
The DVB-2 conforms to the International Mine Action Standards (IMAS) for Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) IMAS 10.30
Protection
The DVB-2 offers full face protection, the visor is constructed from 6mm polycarbonate and provides a STANAG 2920 V50 protection rating of 250 m/s. The DVB-2 has also been subjected to the blast testing regime stated in IMAS 10.30 (240 gm TNT @ 60 cm).
Comfort
The visor is mounted on an adjustable lightweight head-band; and can be raised and lowered by the wearer; the DVB-2 weighs only 1.1kg and can be worn all day without degrading the performance of the user. Each DVB-2 is supplied with a carry bag to protect the visor from scratches when not in use.
For comfort there are two removable pads on the head band situated to cushion the fore head and the top of the head, for hygiene purposes the pads can be washed.
