The EMS wire-free voice message evacuation device is a battery operated sounder remotely activated and monitored by the system 5000 controller. Each unit has a unique address configured during manufacture and is individually addressable by the system controller. Each unit can produce up to 4 separate fully synchronised, locally stored audio messages. These messages can be triggered either by a standard EMS System 5000 Control panel or a separate Voice evacuation Controller.

The radio speech sounder is housed in an industry standard, ABS moulding. The sounder has 2-way communications with the fire system controller using UHF wavebands to receive commands and VHF for auto reporting.
Designed and manufactured using the latest techniques with surface mount technology ensures component count is kept to a minimum thereby maximising reliability.
The unit is powered by an alkaline battery source comprising of 6 'C' size cells and 6 'AA' size cells. The battery condition is continually monitored and reports at regular intervals of between 5 and 9 minutes ensuring the highest level of integrity. The battery board has been tested to provide 5 years for normal operations including weekly test of sounder. The system indicates remaining battery capacity.
Each unit can be connected to up to two slave message sounders via a local 4-core FP200 cable. Each slave unit is powered by 3 'C' size alkaline cells contained within the slave unit which is fully monitored by the master unit.
