Duct Probe Smoke Detectors

It is sometimes necessary to monitor ventilation ducting etc. for the presence of smoke in order to prevent the spread of fire from one area to another by early detection.

In order to achieve this a special Duct Probe Smoke Detector is installed which enables a sample of the air within the ducting to be passed through an external sensing chamber mounted on the outside of the ducting. Mounted within the chamber is a traditional smoke detection unit, normally photoelectric, and which can be either conventional or addressable as required.
