The First Embedded Server System Device supporting Biometric & Contactless Smart Card Authentication
The iGuard is a new biometrics (fingerprint identification) Access Control & Time Attendance system for business. Rather than using the traditional optical fingerprint scanner, it uses the most-advanced capacitive fingerprint sensor for fingerprint acquisition, to achieve the highest fingerprint-identification results in the industry.

Unlike other security systems, the new iGuard incorporates an embedded Web Server, which enables all computers, such as Apple Macintosh, PCs & Unix machines, in the corporate computer network to setup, maintain and access the information of the device simultaneously using the well-known Internet Browser.
Features:
- Capacitive Fingerprint Sensor;
- TCP/IP Protocol;
- Accessed via Internet Browser
Built-In Web Server Module
The built-in Web Server enables all the computers in the corporate network to directly access the device via the well-known Internet Browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer & Firefox. The computers are platform-independent, and different computer platform such as Apple Macintosh, Microsoft Windows & Unix machines can access the device. No additional software is required.
Solid-state, Silicon-based Capacitive Fingerprint Sensor
Instead of using the traditional optical scanner, iGuard is the 1st Fingerprint Biometrics Security System that uses the most advanced Solid-state, silicon-based Capacitive Fingerprint Sensor.
The new fingerprint sensor features enhanced imaging capabilities, electrostatic discharge (ESD) performance and improved ruggedness to provide superior levels of accuracy and reliability for fingerprint authentication.
The new fingerprint sensor eliminates the limitations of optical scanners, including edge distortion, low-image resolution, scratched platens, mis-aligned optics and bulky size. It is also unaffected by day to day fingerprint variations such as cuts, swelling & dirts.
The Optional Smart Card
The device can optionally equipped with the renowned Philips Mifare Contactless Smart Card Reader. (MIFARER ® is an interface platform for contactless smart cards and readers according to the ISO 14443A Standard). With this option, users can both use the conventional way or the smart card for user authentication. Each user will have his / her own smart card, which stores the user information including the name, company & branch code, and the fingerprint information.
User Friendly Web Administration Interface
iGuard incorporates an embedded Web server, which enables all computers, such as Macintosh, PC's & Unix systems, in the corporate computer network to setup, maintain, and access information on the device using standard Internet browsers.
Enhanced Reporting Capability with Built-in Database Server
iGuard can generate various reports in two formats: TEXT & Excel (xls) formats. All reports can easily be downloaded directly from the device via Internet Browser.
Simple Setup and Easy Administration for a Network
iGuard adopts the most widely used communication protocol, TCP/IP, instead of the slow and ineffective RS-232 & RS-485 used in traditional security systems today. Multiple iGuard devices in various locations can be easily networked and synchronized through an IntraNet or the Internet. Information update and administration can be done on any of these devices. This simplifies administration, especially for companies with offices in many remote locations.
