Under Vehicle CCTV Surveillance System

Westminster's Under Vehicle CCTV Surveillance SystemThe Under Vehicle CCTV Surveillance System has been designed to provide security personnel with a fast and effective method of viewing the underside of vehicles, by providing the operator with a clear image within seconds of the vehicle passing over the scanner.

The systems provide the operator with a safe and effective means to search the undercarriage of vehicles for hidden items including:

  • Explosive devices
  • Firearms
  • Drugs and Contraband
  • Persons

As a result of international projects and installations a number of additional security products have been integrated with the Colour Under Vehicle Surveillance System (CUVSS) equipment. This provides an effective barrier against illegal shipments, terrorist attack or other threats.

The vehicle can be driven over the CUVSS system up to a speed of 30km/h. The underside vehicle image (and scene image/number plate) of the vehicle in question can be viewed by the security personnel in a control room or guardhouse. The high resolution image is available to the operator within one second of the vehicle passing the camera system.

The colour image shows the underside of the vehicle in clear detail. When the operator is satisfied that the vehicle offers no security threat, the necessary instruction is given to allow the vehicle access.

  • On screen zoom-in and roam;
  • Optional Number Plate recognition;
  • Optional IR & RF tag information display.

Features

  • Vehicles can travel over the CUVSS at a speed of up to 30km/h, resulting in higher vehicle throughput;
  • Resolution upwards of 6 times that of a Monochrome (Black & White) camera;
  • All-weather operation in day or night;
  • Screen scrolling via touch-screen software for faster image analysis;
  • Colour Digital Line Scan Camera offers high image resolution for improved inspection and object identification;
  • Can be fully integrated into a network system;
  • Scanning of all vehicles without readjustment;
  • Capable of utilising two Scene Cameras at a time, PIP Scene Images. This feature provided an external image of the vehicle, along with the optional integration of licence plate or tag information.

Visual Image Matching enabled the system to recognise and display already archived image along-side that of the current image for direct comparison.

The system can also include a scene camera, which can be used for viewing and displaying the vehicle number plate and driver, along with the underside image of the vehicle.
