WG Inquisitor: Intelligent Footage Review Tool

The WG Inquisitor is an intelligent footage review tool, which significantly reduces surveillance or investigation team's video product review time and therefore delivers benefits in both time and manpower savings. This desktop machine can connect to a variety of viewing platforms through either the VGA or HDMI sockets and all its functionality can be controlled via the easy to use jog shuttle controller.

Correctly formatted video media can be inputted into the Inquisitor from DVD or any USB devices, including large capacity Hard Disc Drives. The footage can be easily navigated through using a calendar view and reviewed at different viewing speeds. Still images or portions of video can then be exported to USB pen drives for ease of distribution.

The WG Inquisitor is currently capable of reading the following codec's:

  • MS MPEG4
  • DIV X
  • MPEG 2 - Standard
  • MPEG2 - VOB

The WG Inquisitor is most powerful as a review tool when used in conjunction with the TVM family of recorders. Any recorded media from a TVM recorder with motion detection activated can be loaded onto the WG Inquisitor and the captured motion activity will be automatically bookmarked. The activity and alerts will be shown in the form of a graph of metadata displayed along the bottom of the scene that is being reviewed. This allows the user to rapidly locate and identify an event of interest. These identified events can then also be exported for distribution to key team members.

The WG Inquisitor is currently in use within UK police forces and is playing an integral part in speeding up the viewing and analysis of surveillance footage. It delivers substantial savings in team productivity and improvements in effectiveness.
