Passport Identifier

Westminster's Passport Identifier addresses Passport Identifiertoday's stringent security requirements through modern biometric technology. The compact full-page reader is the newest and smallest member of this award-winning product family.

Optimized for use in both large and small environments, the cost-effective scanner enables high-speed data capture from RFID memory chips, such as those used in e-passports, visas and ID cards. The system uses a USB interface to transmit the captured
data for review and validation prior to granting entry to a protected area.

The full-page scanning capability makes it ideally suited for high-volume processing scenarios, such as airports and seaports. The optical data of an entire document (up to 5.9" x 7.4") is automatically scanned within a few seconds. To ensure optimal system reliability, optional features include high-performance LED UV illumination and Passport Identifier runtime software.

Applications

  • Border Control;
  • Airports;
  • Rental Car Companies;
  • Banks;
  • Hotels;
  • Mobile Communications.

Features

  • Full page, single step reader: captures images of the entire data page of an ID document;
  • Extra-large ID-3 format optical scanning area allows inspection of documents without removing protective covers;
  • Optical and RFID inspection without moving the document;
  • High resolution 475 ppi reader handles PDF417 documents;
  • Glare reduction improves readability;
  • Best ergonomics: horizontal flat scanning position similar to common flat bed scanners;
  • Level document support prevents document bending;
  • Integrated reader: Three status LEDs, volume adjustable buzzer;
  • Contact SmartCard reader for maximum application comfort;
  • Standards compliance: Authenticator readers have successfully read all presented passports at the ICAO Interoperability Tests in Japan (2005), Singapore (2005), and Germany (2006);
  • Easy integration: ideal for desktop, portable, and kiosk use.

Benefits

  • Compact scanning device with an extra-large ID-3 optical area;
