BioReader Access Control

Westminster's BioReader Access Control.BioReader offers a comfortable and secure alternative to keys, passwords, access codes and credit card numbers. Expensive applications and maintenance procedures are things of the past. Forgotten passwords or stolen credit cards are a burden for both companies and individuals and thus pose a big challenge to general acceptance and success of an e-Business enterprise.

The methods used to identify people until now have not truly been owner-specific. Voluntary or unwanted use by others cannot be excluded with traditional methods of personal identification, which is why today, such procedures should no longer be used in areas with high levels of required security. The need for reliable identification is a priority in almost all areas in which property or individuals must be protected. No company or person wishes to leave intellectual and material property without sufficient protection or unlimited access. BioReader provides the highest possible degree of protection, enhances the user confidence and reduces the costs compared to previous methods of identification.

BioReader is based on the unmistakable characteristics of a human being, and is therefore currently the most secure method of authentication. BioReader changes the unique features of a person, such as a fingerprint, into an electronic key that can be used in a myriad of applications for authentication purposes. As BioReader does not store the images of the fingerprint, but uses a key that is created from it, no features can be retrieved over the electronic network and misused. Upon request and according to the specific application, BioReader can be combined with different types of biometric technologies as well as business or private uses. Because of its system openness, the most modern biometric technologies can be integrated. This makes it possible to flexibly react to future developments.

Personal access problems are solved with BioReader Access. Keys, passwords, PINs, etc. can no longer be forgotten or lost. Apartments, houses, highly secure areas, safes, weapons cabinets, etc. can be individually equipped with BioReader Access.

TriFusion Access Light

BioReader Access light and light+ each consist of an internal unit (IU) (to control, record and delete users) and a scanning unit (external unit - EU; to record the fingerprint data and to encode it). Both units are connected via codes starting from initialisation. The internal unit is connected to a 220-240 V/AC power source and is connected with a four-pole cable to the scanner. There is also a potential-free connection to the door opener.

The authorized user drags his/her finger on the scanner. The key code is checked and the door is opened by means of an impulse if the key code has been registered in the system

Possible applications

  • Home door and/or garage locks in single-family or multiple-family houses
  • Company locations up to 99 employees
  • Garages or public parking garages up to 99 persons

Benefits

Added value

  • Keys no longer need to be reproduced.
  • Children do not need a key (where loss would be a threat to personal safety).
  • New users and guests do not need a key.
