WG 350-X Radar Detection System

Overview

Westminster International's WG 350-X Readar Detection SystemThe standard Westminster Radar sensor is best suited for mounting approximately 1.5m above ground level. It scans in 360° and sends out a conical beam (like a light house, but with an invisible beam). Higher mounting is possible, but will cause a non-detection area at the foot of the sensor until the beam hits the ground, typically of 30m radius for a radar mounted at 4m high.

The new Westminster Radar 350-X radar employs an advanced beam pattern that minimises non-detection at the base of the sensor when it is mounted higher up, typically a non-detection area of max 6m radius for a radar mounted at 4m high.

As implied by its name, the 350-X radar will detect a man walking at a maximum range of up to 350m radius from the sensor. Approaching vehicles will be detected at longer ranges, out to 800m radius in ideal conditions.

Advantages of the Westminster Radar 350-X

Flexible Mounting

The 350-X can be mounted high on a wall, on the side or roof of a building or on a dedicated pole. In any event, above reach, out of harms way, and at a minimal risk of being tampered with when sited in a public place.

Elevated view

Higher mounting affords the advantage of an elevated view down onto a location. From higher up the radar can overlook a location, for instance, looking over parked cars.
An elevated mounting will also provide a better field of view and detection coverage over uneven ground.

Location, speed & direction of any intruders are overlayed on the latest Google Earth screenshot of the site.

Radar controls cameras to automatically follow and display activity.

Housing model options

The Westminster Radar 350-X is available in two configurations:
W350-X a GRP base with a vacuum formed radome, IP67 rated with a temperature specification of +60°to -20°C.

I350-X a ruggedised model, with cast aluminium base, radome machined from solid and other features to meet harsh environmental conditions, IP67 rated and available as a hot climate unit rated to +70°C or a cold weather unit rated to -40°C.
